April township meeting

Lots of things are happening in our area at this time.  First, we passed a balanced budget for the year and are satisfied that with the current times, we have allowed as much as possible for various services.    Second, As you may know there continues to be discussion regarding wind turbines, especially in Reading township. The Cambria board takes the position that leasing land for these is totally up to the individual property owner and we will not regulate them at the township level.  Third,  The Hillsdale Rural fire dept apparently has some financial problems, and although we are certainly sympathatic to all economic needs, as a township board, we must be prudent in the use of the taxpayer money.

We are also pleased to report that the DEQ has tabled the state wide burning ban, this would have been a major inconvenience for many of us in the rural areas.  We believe this issue can be better addressed at the local level.

Remember the township dump day on April 30th.  a great opportunity to do that spring cleaning at little or no cost.

Once again we invite you to attend our monthly meetings  as you are what helps to make our area important.
